Markets end with losses, Sensex under 38,700

Sensex, which had almost touched 39,000 on Wednesday has now scaled down quite a bit, facing resistance at the 39k-mark. The shares fell on Thursday on profit-booking in financials ahead of the expiry of futures and options contracts later in the day. Among sectors, Nifty FMCG and Nifty Pharma gained more than a per cent each while bank stocks dragged.
