India's Hockey World Cup Squad: Some brave calls, Rupinder himself to blame

When the 2014 Hockey World Cup squad was announced, Sardar Singh was India's captain, Rupinder Pal Singh was his deputy, VR Raghunath was a dependable defender and SV Sunil was the leader of the attack. Four years later, for the 2018 World Cup, an upset Sardar has retired, Rupinder has been dropped, Raghunath is in a self-imposed exile and Sunil has lost his place in the team thanks to an unfortunate injury.
