Mizoram speaker resigns from Cong, joins BJP

Mizoram speaker Hiphei said on Monday that he had resigned from his post, the House as well as the Congress and joined the BJP, just a little over three weeks ahead of the assembly elections. He is the fifth Congress MLA to resign from the 40-member House since September.
