States with glut of doctors keep churning them out

States with acute shortages of doctors have seen few new medical colleges being opened in the last five years, while those with a glut of doctors continue to allow new private colleges. Kerala, already facing a glut of doctors, had 9 colleges opening in the last five years, whereas no new college has opened in Jharkhand since 1969.
