Sec 497 unconstitutional, allows man to control wife's sexuality: Chandrachud

Faulting the constitutionality of Section 497, which made adultery an offence, Justice DY Chandrachud on Thursday said marriage could not be a tool to allow a husband to curtail the sexual autonomy of his wife.
