IS ‘recruit’ held in Afghanistan's US facility deported to India

Hamzafar, a native of Kalpetta, Wayanad district in Kerala, had travelled to Afghanistan via Oman and then Iran in October 2017 as he wanted to fight for the self-proclaimed caliphate. He was in regular touch with Shihas, one of the 21 missing Keralites in 2016, who had travelled to Afghanistan and joined Islamic State.
