#MeToo: Akshay cancels 'Housefull 4' shoot

On Thursday evening, as many as three women — actor Rachel White, assistant director Saloni Chopra and journalist Karishma Upadhyay — had shared their tales of sexual harassment at the hands of Sajid Khan. All the victims have revealed their identity to the media and revealed the details of how they were harassed by Sajid Khan, the brother of choreographer-director Farah Khan, and director of films such as 'Humshakals', 'Himmatwala' and 'Heyy Baby'.Akshay Kumar, who just returned to India from Italy, has cancelled the shoot of 'Housefull 4', which was slated to take place in Mumbai, after grave sexual harassment allegations against the film’s director Sajid Khan surfaced. According to reports, the decision also involved the consideration that one of the actors in the under-production film is Nana Patekar, who was also accused of sexual harassment by Tanushree Dutta. The Bollywood superstar took to his Twitter handle to post the announcement about the cancellation of the film's shoot. The note read, "I’ve just landed back in the country last night and reading all the news has been very disturbing. I’ve requested the producers of Housefull 4 to cancel the shoot until further investigation. This is something that requires stringent action. I will not work with any proven offenders and all those who have been subjugated to harassment should be heard and given the justice they deserve."'Housefull 4' is being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and more than half of the film's portions have been shot in London and Jaisalmer.
