'India pips US to become 2nd largest smartphone market'

In the July-September quarter, India overtook the US to become the second largest smartphone market. India saw a shipment of 40.4 million units during the third quarter while the US was at 40 million units and China topped with 100.6 million smartphones. But worldwide smartphone shipments fell by 7.2 per cent year-on-year to 348.9 million units in the same quarter.
